Mara Keisling of the NCTE comes out swinging at HRC

'Our official position right now is we are extremely disappointed and angry at HRC. ... The real bottom line is right now NCTE will not do anything that will rehabilitate HRC as a legitimate spokesman for transgender people ... until they stop actively hurting trans people," said Keisling. Mara has taken a stand apart from HRC. We need Mara now as a free voice of the Transgender

Gentle Gender peeps and the monsters of the dark

Gentle Gender peeps(people) and the monsters of the dark

You know who you are. You are the HRC member who wispered confessions of gender variance into my ear at a black tie event least your contemporaries should hear.

You are the Doctor, truck driver, student, pilot and perhaps a bloger or two.

Some are peering from behind a wall of discrimination. Aware that any sudden movements would attract vicious predators.

Afraid becuse the conscripts the politicans have enabled to the point of violence by voicing to the public, bigoted and fear inspiring pronouncments such as the infamous speech by the openly gay Massachessetts Congressman Barney Frank in 1999 in which he announced "transgendered people want a law that mandates a person with a penis be allowed to shower with woman."

DAHIR, MUBARAK. (1999, May 25). WHOSE MOVEMENT IS IT? The Free Library. (1999). Retrieved January 19, 2008 from http://www.thefreelibrary.com/WHOSE MOVEMENT IS IT?-a054775067

Mr Frank has built a career catering to the odd bedfellows of Log Cabin democrates and homophobic hate mongers who together shout in glee as each time Barney Frank leads gender variant people to the top of the mountain of ENDA success only to be shoved from behind to the abass below.

Could it be that Mr. Frank's satement in 1999 was at least in part to divert attention from a recently exposed long term alleged prostitution addiction as profiled in;

Mr. Frank has built a career bullying the helpless of the world and in turn bolstering and validating the causes for which he is interested in.

The National outcry of outrage produced by the latest ENDA dabacle has sent Barney Frank and his coconspiraor and social power base HRC into full damage control mode.

The acknowledgement by HRC and Mr. Franks blatant transgressions are being maifested by HRC's $ 25,000.00 dollar grant to Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition(MTPC)'s first newly installed paid chair person Gunner(apt name) Scott, who by self proclamation is at once the originator of all things gender and the under dog at large.

Massachesetts Congressman Barney Frank has since sent his political machinery in motion and his political minons falling over themselfs proclaiming "gender varience for all and all a good night".

What makes this all the more insidious is the subtle ways HRC and Barney Frank are attempting to vilify and isolate the purely gender varient from their just causes.

However we are viligent and unafraid.

We will identify and cull from the herd the charlitons, Arnolds and juda's.

You have been identified Gunner Scott.

This fact has not been lost on the local chapter of the American Transgender Veterans Association(TAVA) which has withdrawn from the MTPC coalition to protest the HRC grant but has made it known that it remains steadfast in support of the Massachesetts gender inclusive admendments to a sex only 1989 law. This brings to question, is there anyway to successfully intergrate the gender varient?

The answer is a resounding YES!

In Vermont. The next door nabour to Massachessetts. And its so simple as" can't we all just get along" would suggest.

In the Blueprint for change by Ethan Jacobs staff reporterWednesday Jan 16, 2008 appearing in the BayWindows;

If you make sure that transgender people are in every facet of your organization, if you make sure they’re in the leadership of your organization, you’re providing constant exposure to politicians. ... Here transgender people are front and center in the fight for marriage equality," said Goldstein. "The politicians here see transgender people year round at the table."

"It was absolutely critical to passing this legislation that legislators and the governor got to meet with transgender Vermonters, and that had not happened before, where that level of transgender people were visible and vocal and telling their stories about why this legislation was important," said DeLeonardis.

PEEPS! THIS IS THE ANSWER WE HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR!!!!!!

This is the answer. We must not wait for permission to live. We must be involved in our larger community. I would like to introduce Transgender Advocates of Central Texas(TACT)http://www.tactx.org/

This fine group of Gender Varient people and our supporters are conducting among other efforts a Independent Educational Initiative at the 2008 Austin HRC gala. http://planetransgender.blogspot.com/

TACT board member, Lisa Scheps said, "We feel the leadership of HRC not only hurt the transgender community, but also any person that doesn’t conform to gender norms. This includes feminine men and masculine women – many of whom are HRC members. Under the ENDA that passed in The House of Representatives these people would have no protections. And, let’s face it, when a person is discriminated against it is usually because of how they present themselves and not because of who they sleep with."

The answer to Barney Frank and HRC national steering committee lays right in our laps.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEEDUCATIONAL INITIATIVE DURING HRC GALA
Austin, Tx -- Transgender Advocates of Central Texas (TACT) will be holding an independent educational initiative during the gala event of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) on January 26th at the Austin Hilton. This initiative is motivated by the desire to educate the members of HRC about gender identity and expression and the need to provide protections in legislation. HRC continued to support an Employment Non Discrimination Act (ENDA) after Representative Barney Frank deleted protections for gender identity and expression. This was despite a coalition of over 300 national, statewide, and local groups who signed a pledge to not support a non-inclusive bill.
And, let’s face it, when a person is discriminated against it is usually because of how they present themselves and not because of who they sleep with." TACT looks forward to a day when all people get all of the protections provided by the Constitution.
Transgender Advocates of Central Texas is an advocacy group dedicated to furthering the cause of Gender Diverse people in Central Texas. We will accomplish this through advocacy and education in both public and private forums. Through our efforts we will strive to halt discrimination through social, legal, legislative and corporate education.

Pride at Work AFL-CIO promotes GLBT inclusion

Actual Deeds are the foundation of advocacy. Pride At Work is working hard to insure the most qualified are included in the work place.

Make contracts LGBT-inclusive!
Pride at Work, the AFL-CIO affiliate that promotes lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights on the job, has developed a Union Certification Program to help workers negotiate LGBT-inclusive contracts. Its first training took place in November with OPEIU Local 29 in Oakland, Calif.
During the five-hour training, attendees learned how to add contract language that protects LGBT workers from discrimination and harassment on the job and gives them access to federal programs like the Family and Medical Leave Act. They also learned how to argue for domestic partner benefits and transgender-inclusive health care. To find out more about the program, contact paw@aflcio.org; to set up a training session so your union can become certified, contact jbishop@aflcio.org.

Susan Stanton's lonely transition

In a article posted on Tampa Bay.com December 31, 2007 Susan stanton laments that here reception by the LGBT community has been less than welcoming.

"Susan has met hundreds of other people like her. She was among the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people lobbying for a law that would make it illegal for others to discriminate against them.
But Susan has said all along that she's not like other transgender people. She feels uncomfortable even looking at some, "like I'm seeing a bunch of men in dresses."
Eventually, she decided it was too early for transgender people to be federally protected. People need more time, more education, she says. "The transgender groups boo me, now, when I speak. Isn't that ironic?
"But I don't blame the human rights groups from separating the transgender people from the protected groups. Most Americans aren't ready for us yet," Susan says. Transgender people need to be able to prove they're still viable workers -- especially in the mainstream.
"The biggest issue against the federal legislation is that politicians think the ladies' rooms will be invaded by guys in drag," Susan says, "instead of someone like me"

News flash Susan. You think like a bigot in a dress, and I as a hard working transgender woman , please note, WORKING, American do not need your approval .

So if you decide that out of default, becuse everyone else is a man in a dress, you parade before the media with HRC's blood money in hand, you have made your life just that more lonesome.

We reject you and anyone other bigots regardless
