Barney Frank ENDA AGAIN Anytime now: Better be with Public Accommodations

Barney Frank AKA the "men with penises in the women's shower" congressman has just announced that the 2011 version of ENDA is about to be "reintroduced" in Congress "at any time now". This means the current version has already been written and he is gathering co-sponsors now.

I sincerely hope the Congress of the United States does not try to pull the stunt that Equality Maryland is doing by backing a transgender "anti Discrimination" bill without public accommodations provisions.

I hope that Mr. Barney Frank and his political backer HRC have taken heed of the outrage in Maryland and across this country. We will know "anytime now".

Some comments reflect a ignorance or a wish to revise transgender history. Lets set something straight now. The 2010 ENDA failed because of public accommodations Despite assurances from NCTE Barney Frank says there will be Gender police.

You're trying to create an issue here where there isn't, and never as been, one. ENDA has NEVER covered public acommodations, even when it only covered sexual orientation discrimination. I suppose that's why it's called the EMPLOYMENT Non-Discrimination Act & not something broader. The decision to limit the push for LGBT rights to employment was made many years ago. Whether that was the correct decision or not is open to discussion, but this isn't AT ALL like the situation in Maryland, where past bills included public accommodations & that coverage was eliminated this year based on the belief, whether correct or not, that the bill would never pass with PA coverage. We've got enough battles to fight without creating another one that has nothing to do with the question of whether trans people are entitled to the same protetions as LGB people.

What a complete farce. ENDA in any form has NO chance of passing in the current Republican dominated house.

This is pure grandstanding to cover up the inaction the last two years when it did have a chance of passing.

Unfortunately, Abby's right.

While I believe that ENDA should cover ALL LGBTQetc. people (including trans people), ENDA does NOT cover public accommodations for ANYONE.

Abby you are trying to revise history. ENDA has always failed because of the bathroom issue. always. I will post links on the article to prove I am correct. I do not know why the truth about why ENDA fails bothers you so much.

ENDA amends Title VII, yes? That's a law that bans discrimination in employment. This blog post seems nonsensical.

Brennan, a non transgender troll. After being banned by me on Facebook you have taken your anti transgender rhetoric to the Blogs and twitter. Your twitter name "BugBrennan certainly is appropriate. Get a life Brennan.
