National Freedom to Marry Day Dallas Texas Feb. 12

It's all about love.

Dallas Texas on February 12, 2009 a beautiful bride beaming with joy exits her Jaguar on a warm winter day. Not far her partner waits pride and anticipation flowing like sunshine from her.

The congregation enjoying the light breeze carrying the promise of happiness blessed the ring as Reverend Dr. Daniel Kanter of the First Unitarian Church of Dallas held it in the air for all. Reciting there vows to love and cherish Reverend Kanter pronounced our couple married in the eyes of the lord and blessed by all! Cheering we applauded as they shared a kiss sealing there fidelity. They then went into the county clerks office to ask the state to officially recognize there union.

The Clerk Said No. You see Kim and Rose are woman. While they are legally married in Canada, they are just strangers to the state of Texas.

Rose tearfully explained if her lifes love was on her death bed it would be within the rights of the hospital to deny her entrance to Kim's room.

Kim would not be able to hold the love of her life's hand as she died.

If Rose was to adopt children Kim could not become a legal guardian.

If Kim's child was sick at school Rose would not be allowed to take her home.

They are being denied 130 rights Heterosexual people are allowed by marriage.

As the couple explained it's all about being able to care for your family. It's all about love.

Русский язык Гей Изолировано и преследовал Мировые Стенды Близко Russian Gay's Isolated and persecuted the World Stands By

Source Gay Russia; Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender people are being forgotten by the very political parties that they had hoped would link them to the free world.

In a country where democratic liberties were tasted for a second like a waft of perfume, it passed threw the senses floating on a breeze that has since turned icy and forbidding.

Moscow Mayor Luzhkov has reiterated it is forbidden to conduct Gay Pride celebrations and members of the Moscow Dumas have stated it is treasonous to even speak (propaganda) of preventing STD or birth control by modern methods.

According to Gay Russia Luzhkoz said,
"He suggested that propaganda of the views of sexual minorities can be one of the factors in the expansion of HIV infection in the city."

Moscow Mayor stressed that “of course, we will be criticized by all democrats in the world but in the each society there are own views on that”.

Yes Mister Mayor you will be criticised and held accountable for the human suffering by all Democratic free societies.

"Free Queer Hugs!" Wellcomed With Open Arms!

LGBT Kiss In and Queer Hugs wellcomed with open arms.

Found in a article reported By JOANNA CATTANACH of the The Dallas Morning News "It was quite a display – just not one officials with the Dallas Museum of Art planned for."

"We have a right to express love just as much as everybody else," said Blake Wilkinson, founder of Queer LiberAction, whose group organized Saturday's "Queer Kiss-in."

What lengths am I as transgender woman willing to go to get a hug? Apparently I will stand on a sidewalk with a "Free Queer Hugs" sign. That would be a aberration from normality, until lately anyways.

Amazingly I got hugs! 10, 15 maybe 17.8 hugs per smile. Wow. Once in a while I was treated to a fellow Christian to a open conversation regarding homosexuality as

the Dallas Morning News story continues...

"One mother instructed her child to avert his eyes from the kiss-in participants. "Don't look at them," she said, grabbing and turning her son's head away. Others simply walked by, avoiding eye contact. One woman murmured, "It's twisted, very twisted." But another cited biblical principles, then exchanged hugs with a transgender activist, (thats me!) saying, "Hate the sin, not the sinner."

The good reporter was unaware of the calmness after we simultaneously found common ground agreeing Jesus has a plan for us and we are both loved by him in his radical inclusion. Then we hugged!

Maybe as the Morning News reported noted, this public display of affection was not planned on by Museum officials, but from the warmth and sincerity of the hugs I think it was welcomed, with open arms!

News From Californian "Mormon-gate."

The reoccurring theme in some of these stories is the facade the LDS maintains of innocence and victimization.

It reminds me of the news reporter who just happened to be in a woman's dressing room just after the passage of gender inclusive local ordinances. A man dressed in woman clothing bursts in, runs the length of the room invading the women's privacy. Reporter screams "Men in Woman's room" and files a report in hopes of substantiating the transphobic hatemongers ridiculous lies. Not long after the truth becomes apparent. Seems she kinda knew that man. Kinda very well as a matter of fact.

That story died down real fast.

Indeed the LDS is being "targeted" now if transparency of it's legal responsibility is "targeting".

And the Mormon Church should feel indignation that anyone should take exception to "we donated 0" statement when the tip of the iceberg is closer to a Quarter MILLION DOLLARS.

Perhaps the recognition is troublesome of being an individually responsible contributor to the first and hopefully last time equal rights were granted and then taken away from a minority in the United States of America.

Pehaps the LDS is worrying that someone might question what role it plays in deciding what constitutes excessive involvement by Church in State affairs. A intentionally vague and unambiguous boundary at best.

May the cloak of deception fall. Follow the link to Californians Against Hate.

Add Your Name To Overturn 8

Add Your Name To Overturn 8

For our third of five actions to overturn Prop 8, add your name to a scrolling list of our members.

Have one minute?
Add your name to scroll on the homepage of eqca.org. Show the world you support the freedom to marry and oppose equality being put up for a vote.

Have two minutes?
Call, email, text your friends and family to add their names as well. Follow up with at least three people personally and tell them why this is so important to you.

Add Your Name To Overturn 8

The day after Prop 8 passed, Equality California—on behalf of our members—challenged Prop 8 in the California Supreme Court. On March 5, our case will be heard.

And by being a member of EQCA—the only organizational plaintiff in the case—you are a part of this moment in history.

We know that being out as an LGBT person, or as an advocate for equality, is essential to our fight.

That is why we are asking you to come out in a big way—by adding your name to a scroll of supporters on the homepage of eqca.org.

Take a minute to add your name to publicly show your support for the freedom to marry and for protecting minorities from having their equality put up for a popular vote.

Add Your Name To Overturn 8

The brilliant attorneys at the National Center for Lesbian Rights, Lambda Legal, ACLU, Munger Tolles and Olson, LLP and the Law Office of David C. Codell have worked tirelessly so we all live in a state where equality can’t be voted away. Now each of us must do our part.

While our opponents try to hide who their supporters are, we can show the world that we are everywhere and are proud to be on the side of equality. Add your name now.

Add Your Name To Overturn 8

And what about the people you care about and who care about you?

Forward this email to everyone one your list and ask them to become part of this historic moment by joining you. And follow up with at least three personally—tell them why it matters to you that they add their names to the list. And explain that the case is about more than marriage—as important as that is—but is about keeping other minorities from having their rights voted on.

Add Your Name To Overturn 8

By showing our neighbors, co-workers, family and friends that we are proud to be out in support of the freedom to marry and for the rights of other groups who will be at risk if Prop 8 is allowed to stand—and asking them to join us—we will build a true state of equality here in California.

In solidarity,

Geoff Kors
Executive Director
Equality California

P.S. This is the third of five actions to overturn Prop 8 before EQCA’s Lobby Day to Overturn 8 next week. Keep looking for more actions until the big day, February 17!
