Trevor Ashley: Your "trAnnie" kills Trans Children

Despite of the petition, numerous complaints to the Anti Discrimination Board  answered at best with form letters, and emails to the Sydney Opera House not to show 'trAnnie' it appears they plan to go forward with this show which mocks transgender children associating  them with sexual perversity, substance abuse and pedophilia.

Why would these people make Christmas even more agonizing for trans youth by making their ridicule a yule time tradition?
Why is it conscionable to perform what is essentially black face or trans face by gay people arguably associated to transgender people by the acronym LGBT?
What rational could the Opera House, actors and the government have for helping to intensify the stigmatization of trans youth who already have an attempted suicide rate of 50%?

They all say its in good fun, we should learn to take a joke and we should stop claiming to be victims.
The plot and trailer

The lead role and co writer is Trevor Ashley, an Australian gay man who apparently spent much of his life in cabaret and garnered quite a following.

I just finished interviewing Ali, a transgender youth from Arkansas. While I was writing her article it hit me like a ton of bricks. Her narrative in the Friend Film  trailer primarily focused on the hate she endured in rural Stuttgart being forced to present as male and being called a 'faggot'.

Now that she has come out as a young trans woman, she will have to deal with being called a different pejorative one that pierces her heart, "Tranny". This youth survived her early childhood, but she and other trans girls like her, shy and unassuming, are who this production and promotion of "tRanie" puts in peril.

They are the ones we will mourn losing this Transgender Day of Remembrance  only days before this show mocks them. Mainly young woman of color, marginalized by the same stigmatization Trevor Ashly promotes with "trAnnie".

The word "Tranny" is a pejorative used almost exclusively as a weapon during beatings and murders and to describe children and adults in the pornographic industry.

Want proof?

Trevor Ashley is connecting with these predators, gay transphobes and a assortment of others on  twitter promoting his play with the hashtag "Trannie" .

A screen snip of a man responding to Trevor Ashley and few following unassociated tweets, the kind you will always find by people using the slur "trannie or tranny":

I implore you Ashley Trevor to have a change of heart. We would never know exactly how many lives would be saved by cancelling "trAnnie" but you would know you this.

You wouldn't be contributing to the hate that kills.

planetransgender Takes on "Tranny" Part 2

Tranny. Faggot, are words that harm equally those they are meant to offend. Not using them is a simple request that's generally respected with a few exceptions.

However, many high profile gay people feel its their right to defame transgender people and have long done so despite our requests, then demands and most recently glittering.

And as absurd as it is many Gay people are offended that we take exception to this defamation. Lord forbid we should post stories about actions taken against gay icons highlighting our angst over being defamed.

Demand the Dallas Voice Stop Using "Tranny"

A gay man, Steven Publicover commented that I should stop shrieking like a 'harpy' on my facebook profile when I posted about the recent glittering of Dan Savage and other transgender responses to gay misogyny.

"If trans activists don't want our help, fine. I'm tired of all the bitching and complaining and shrieking like a harpy. Think you can do better alone? Go for it.
Having never heard the term "harpy" before I looked it up thinking it was a slur against Jewish people but as it turns out its Gay misogyny personified in the dehumanization of the sacred female as a "filthy beast" who is a "a scolding, nagging, bad-tempered woman".

If their ever was a insult this is it so I will turn that around. I feel a personal attachment to this transformed woman fighting her for life with only her wings of feathers to defend herself against this man's gay blade.

As she valiantly fights you can't help notice the vultures circling like gay media waiting for the next opportunity to pick a transgender person apart.

There is a response online. I begun a petition asking that Logo drop RuPaul's drag race for his sensationalistic commercialization of "tranny". Although there are only a few signatures at this time they are from all over the world representing not just US activists but a consensus from our worlds population.

Tranny hurts.

"Queer Rising" Stop Drag n round Transgender Expression on the Aids Walk

Kat over at Enda Blog is righteously "fucking mad" that New York gay's are continuing to place Marriage equality over GENDA.

I couldn't agree more with Kat on that count but what makes me really "fucking mad" is a that queer rising, a New York Gay advocacy organization is using Rupaul's misappropriated brand trying to embarrass their opponents with MY transgender expression.

Queer Rising offended that Senator Diaz is holding a anti gay marriage rally the same day will be on the Aids Walk route taking pictures of the Senator in drag with participants for a dollar.

Ok, this is not right you're thinking, but maybe Queer Rising has a history of transgender activism and being populated by trans people this transgression might not seem as offensive. Viewing the video of past actions I see no obviously trans peeps so we'll dig a little deeper, there still might be some trans in the woodpile.

Well, Queer Rising's Facebook page and web page listing past actions doesn't have anything in support of the most vulnerable of our community, inner city transgender people. Neither does Queer Rising cofounder Natasha Dillon Twitter account nor does Queer Rising..
But Queer Rising's Tweeter stream overflows with tweets by gay people celebrating Queers Rising dehumanizing of transgender people for GAY MARRIAGE!

Queer Rising WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? TAKE THE "T" OUT OF YOUR NAME! you have done nothing to earn it

So, I painted myself into a corner you think defending RuPaul of all people!

Number 1. RuPaul is a transphobic cisgender gay pig who's monetarily capitalizing on the transgender expression which tragically simultaneously assimilates our expression. (we got him, like it or not)

Number 2. That said, drag does fall under the transgender umbrella as much as I don't like it and you're using it to denigrate our existence is an attack on our physical welfare

I got a better idea! Why don't we place your senatorial opponents on top of your gay fist and humiliate him with the idea HE MIGHT BE GAY? *GASP* Just leave transgender expression and identity alone. I'll tell you why.

You are gay and lesbian misogynist and did not want to denigrate the gay experience. Because transgender people are easily accessible less respected minority EVERYONE can laugh at, one that gay people feel they have some claim to. YOU USED US!

We are not less than you, damn it.

Contact queerrising@gmail.com and/or call Co Founder Natasha Dillon at 917-520-8554.

Update of sorts. Its still a day before the walk but I have had two phone conversations with Natasha Dillion. She told me during those talks the reason Queer Rising has no history of transgender advocacy is because no transgender people have attended their meetings.

According to Natasha" We vote on advocacy ideas from our members but since we have had no transgender members there have been no trans events" I really suspected as much. When she was questioned about who suggested using drag to humiliate the Senator Ms. Dillion told me "We have a couple drag queen members, some who have been arrested with us and they suggested the idea". Ms. Dillion did say that their drag members did not live full time.

In this mornings twitter conversation Ms Dillion responded positively to my list of blogs I asked her to read with this mention:

Again I ask that DRAG, a part of our culture NOT be used to humiliate and degrade our adversaries. Actions like that send a message to the transgender communities foes that not only are we less than they but less than gay.

Invitation to yet Another Gay misogynist meaT Locker Drag Show!

I get a lot of negative feedback when I talk about my dislike of Drag. But sometimes I just got to say...

It degrades, objectifies and stigmatizes the most vulnerable of the LGBT community, usually trans woman but cisgender gay illusionists with little or no choices in life also suffer.

WESLEY RAYMOND HULL had taken it upon himself to invite me to yet another Drag show.

I would like to believe he's just T Totally ignorant of who I am but given my history of confronting Rupaul's Gay.com media mafia, and gay misogynists everywhere but that's a little hard to believe.

Just for the record. Do not invite me to these meat locker shows and I won't fuck with you.

Understanding Gay Misogyny: Why "Ticked off Tra**ies with Knives"?

Ain’t nothin’ hotter than a dead girl

To many transgender people the whole concept of Misogyny is a mystery and to others like myself, it is not.

I once identified out of fear as male and played the male dominate role. It had been ingrained in my psyche and served as my cover so no one would get a glimpse of my true self, except.....

.....when I had to lower my defenses as I had to do frequently to engage in sex. Then I was feminine and emotionally accessible and afterwards I felt angry. Angry at myself for being vulnerable, at my sexual partner for seeing my vulnerabilities and in my momentarily sedated mind I was especially angy at my temporary sexual partners for capitalizing on my vulnerabilities.

Seeking retribution and a way to mend my broken self I would tell sexist jokes, visit strip clubs, act disrespectfully and generally try to makeup for my lack of self respect by exhibiting passive aggressive behaviour towards women.

Exit Mr and enter Ms. I am asking you to take a leap of faith with me.

In believing I have transitioned and have had many years introspection and spiritual growth thats allowed me to view that "me" with a rear view mirror. That intimate knowledge of misogyny and the resultant behaviour enables me with a unique vantage point.

But why are so many gay men so enthralled with stereotyping as sexually inferior transgender woman, usurping and denigrating transgender phraseology and whats up with this violence? First lets get a handle on what misogyny is and thanks to glbtq Social Science we will debunk it's mystery.

"Misogyny" literally means "hatred of women." However, in everyday usage, beliefs and actions described as misogynist range from intense hatred of women to a more subtle disdain that maintains women as inferior beings who must be dominated and controlled by men. There are some men who eagerly adopt the label of misogynist and others who take its definition literally to mean hatred and therefore absolve themselves of the charge."

Curious is the response of a few transwoman who defend "TO$WK"!

"Misogyny also infects women, including their attitudes toward themselves as well as toward others. Just as there are homophobic queer people, there are also misogynistic women."

So how is Misogyny exhibited socially?

"Misogyny, and societal acceptance of it, can be blamed for men's violence against female family members, as well as strangers; discrimination against women in employment, education, and politics; lack of appropriate health care for women (such as inadequate funding for research on female cancers); and continuing unequal divisions of labor in the home, among many other social inequities."

How does misogyny effect gay men?

"Gay men are both perpetrators of misogyny and victims of it. In all-male societies where women are neither necessary nor desired, gay men can create a misogynistic culture without the existence of any women to object."

"Gay men's use of drag, as well as campy humor imitating or making fun of women, can be seen as misogynist behavior. Drag exaggerates and flaunts over-the-top femininity in a way that few women would or could. While many drag artists and connoisseurs respect and appreciate women, others engage in drag with the conscious understanding that they are making fun of women, or at least of certain aspects of female behavior and existence."

So how as a transgender woman does gay misogyny affect my life?

"As individuals who reside in the borderlands between maleness and femaleness, or who try to cross this border, transgendered people are subject to particularly virulent misogyny (wit TO$WK). Men who are seen as "acting like women" are subjected to misogynist violence by men who see them as degrading masculinity. Women who are seen as "acting like men" are often especially targeted by misogynists, who believe such behavior is a corruption of nature. Fear of violence from misogynists and others forces many transgender people to try to hide who they are, an onerous task in daily life."

How can I better the transgender experience for people yet to begin there trip on our road less traveled?

I am working hard to expose this sickness in our LGBTQ community. You may also and we can help to open one gay persons heart, stop one gay man from attending TO#WK, stop one LGBTQ film festival from gorging at the temple of transplotation, we have succeeded for today.

For today! Tomorrow as our detractors have often noted much to there dismay, we will work again Never satisfied untill we are treated as fully equal in the Gay and Lesbian Bi Sexual world.
