Dallas Commissioner Dickey says: Transgender and Obesity is the Same NO Protections

At the Dallas County Commissioners Court meeting held on April 19th Commissioner Maurine Dickey stated she would not vote in favor of adding gender identity and expression to the newly amended Dallas County nondiscrimination policy.

Source: Dallas Voice "Dickey told Instant Tea she believes the Commissioners Court’s recent decision to add “sexual orientation” to the policy was “overdue.” However, she said she thinks adding gender identity/expression to the policy could lead to adding “overweight people” or “people with diabetes.”

“I won’t be voting for a special protected class,” Dickey said. “You’ve got to stop somewhere. … It becomes a legal nightmare.”

In response to follow-up questions, Dickey said, “I’m not going to argue with you about it.”
It would then be reasonable to extrapolate Mrs. Dickey feels there would be no benefit to society by adding the 'special interest group' transgender people to the non discrimination policy since we could be cured with reparative therapy the same as obesity can be medically remedied?

Yet Commissioner Dickey voted for chopping off the T and adding Gay people who are in every sense of the word a "special interest group".

************************

Or is Commissioner Dickey's objection to adding transgender people to the County's non discrimination policy suggest something more personal is involved?

The Dallas voice thinks there maybe something more to it "filed a request, under the Texas Public Information Act, seeking any and all records related to the Dallas County Commissioners Court’s decision to add sexual orientation — but not gender identity/expression — to the county’s nondiscrimination policy."

“I’m not going to argue with you about it.”

Dear Commissioner Maurine Dickey, transgender people and obese people are discriminated against but generally in different ways. However transgender people can not be medically cured and unlike obese people, transgender people are murdered for who we are.

Does Maurine Dickey profit by enabling morbid obesity and rabid transphobia?

Undoubtedly her political base has sent her clear signals, keep your job oppose transgender inclusion. And since her husband is the president of the Dickey's BBQ restaurant chain, which operates in 30 states, Maurine Dickey clearly profits from enabling food addictions contributing to morbid obesity. But she doesn't know or care about the causes that lead transgender people to end up dead, unemployment and refusal of access to public accommodations.

The average daily caloric intake of a 30 year old male is approximately 2600 calories. One Dickie's BBQ meal contains a average of 3500 calories

Tell Democratic Senator Carlos I. Uresti and Texas Republican Senators to OPPOSE SB 723

Texas SB 723 is the bill that would remove a court ordered "sex change" from the list of identifying documents that can be used to obtain a marriage license.

But the fallout of this bill should it get passed by the Senate is tragic. There would then be legislative and Judicial precedent in further battles for our opponents to site as they endeavour to render us non citizens in Texas.

All of the of Democratic Texas State Senators have come out in opposition to the bill except one, which would remove the right of Texas Transgender people to Marry. This bill if passed by the Senate surly will be passed by the House to Governor Rick Perry who has stated he would sign it into law.

Immigration detainee Alexis Cortez-Reyna held in solitary "so you can learn not to be a faggot"

Source Chiacgo Tribune:
WASHINGTON— For 22 hours a day, Alejandro Cortez-Reyna, who is transgender, was confined to a 5-by-9-foot cell in Immigration custody. Eventually the time out of the cell was reduced to about 45 minutes.

When Cortez-Reyna once asked why dayroom time for gay or transgender immigrants at the Theo Lacy facility in California was cut to less than two hours, a guard responded, "Because you need to learn not to be a faggot."

The guard's response is part of a civil rights complaint filed Wednesday on behalf of Cortez-Reyna and 12 others. It alleges systemic abuse and neglect of gay and transgender immigrants while in custody at facilities owned or contracted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Chicago-based Heartland Alliance National Immigrant Justice Center filed the action with the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties and Inspector General's Office.

Sandy Rawls Interview "I'm Glad HB235 is Dead"

"Equality Maryland can't just keep on with what they've been doing, they have to reach out to the transgender community." says Sandy Rawls.

Ashley Love of Trans Forming Media (TFM) talks with Baltimore transgender leader Sandy Rawls founder and director of Trans-United who initially supported HB235. Miss Rawls later became a outspoken opponent of the 'anti-discrimination bill' without public accommodations protections after hearing from her membership.

Sadly Equality Maryland the proponent of HB235 is not reaching out. Conversely they are continuing to censor the transgender community by not allowing the majority of people who voice dissenting opinions from commenting on their facebook page all the while trumpeting a fully inclusive meme .

Sandy Rawls and Ashely Love are the people Equality Maryland Should be listening to not their transgender doctor and another wealthy member who stated the only way their lives could have been effected by the omission of public accommodations was the possibly they might have a harder time reserving a room at the ski lodges.
